Our Story
Deerfoot Downtown is the Lancaster City home of Deerfoot Vineyards and Winery; a boutique, award-winning winery rooted in Berks County since 2014. An extension of the family farm in Shoemakersville, The downtown tasting room brings that story to the heart of Lancaster, one $5 tasting at a time.
The People
The Winemaker
Dan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Penn State and an A.A.S. in Enology. He works as a consultant and software architect while handling all winemaking responsibilities. He grew up on the farm and has been crafting small-batch wines with quiet precision ever since.
The Boss
Jaime is a professional art educator at Hempfield School District, a singer, artist, and self-described dinosaur enthusiast. She holds a Master's in Art Education from Millersville University and a Doctorate in Transformational Teaching and Learning from Kutztown University — and she's the one who introduced Dan to wine in the first place.
Farmer Brown
With over 50 years of farming experience, David manages the vineyard and keeps everything growing. A natural problem-solver and keeper of farm history, he's been known to share a story or two about the property with tasting room visitors.
Lancaster Tasting Room Manager
Phil is a certified wine professional who brings warmth and expertise to every visit at Deerfoot Downtown. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines make each tasting memorable as highlighted in a recent feature in Fig Magazine.
